TESTIMONIALS
October 2016
Great Patient Testimony from 10/7/16: "I have been hurting in my back and chest right after eating since 1998. I have been to several doctors over the years, they would run tests, scans, and do procedures and come up empty handed. They could not help me. The pain was excruciating, I would be in tears every time i ate. I was finally persuaded to get a massage. That's when I first went to Dr. Pennington. She and her staff are second to none. They made me feel at ease and comfortable right from the beginning of my visits. She listened to my explanations of the pain, did adjustments on my back, and I felt better after the first visit. I have continued to go and followed her plan of care, my back has only hurt a little bit, and I am able to eat a normal meal again. She is now treating my legs, and they are also already feeling better. I encourage you to call Dr. Pennington and make an appointment. She and her staff will take good care of you, They have added so much to my quality of life, and I am so thankful." -L.R

4 month old drug dependent baby
We are in the process of adopting a precious baby boy who was born dependent on drugs (methamphetamine and opiates). Additionally, he was delivered via cesarean with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. Due to the level of distress at birth, he was airlifted to the University of Kentucky for admittance to their nationally recognized NICU. A few days later, we received a phone call asking if we were interested in custody. We agreed to take custody and began visiting the NICU frequently as we prepared to bring him into our home.
It is very difficult to see a baby in these circumstances, but I know there are far worse cases. The NICU staff used Morphine to manage the symptoms of withdrawal while closely monitoring vitals. We brought the baby home when he was around three weeks old. He continued to suffer with extremely tense muscles, a tilted neck and head, abdominal pain and other symptoms of withdrawal. Even at three months old, he was still waking up every two hours for feedings. He would wake up throughout the night in an angry cry, indicating his pain and suffering.
One day, we were at our Chiropractor’s office for treatment. Dr. Pennington didn’t know the full situation, but immediately noticed something about him. She looked and him more closely and expressed that she believed he needed to be adjusted. She adjusted his atlas and immediately, he was noticeably more relaxed. We went home that night and he slept for eight complete hours through the night. If this account doesn’t make you a believer in the field of Chiropractic, nothing else will. We are grateful for a doctor that cares extremely for our entire family and takes the time needed to ensure our healing occurs.
Diabetic Neuropathy
75 year old male patient presented with Diabetes for 20+ years and advanced Diabetic Neuropathy in both feet and legs. Severe edema was evident in both feet and lower legs accompanied by numbness and pain. The patient was unable to walk without the assistance of a cane and due to inability to feel the feet, he walked bent over to see where he was stepping, to avoid falling. The patient had fallen numerous times and would fall forward and usually hit on his face.
The first visit, Dr. Pennington explained the reasoning behind Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic adjustment and how the body would respond when the Atlas (the first bone below the skull) was properly aligned, based on specific cervical x-rays that were required. It was difficult for the patient to fully understand how something in his neck would influence the numbness and swelling in his feet, however he agreed to proceed with exam and xrays.
Dr. Pennington reviewed the xrays and explained how the bones of the neck were out of alignment and how the specific and gentle adjustment would be done. The Dr. explained how the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic technique does not require twisting or popping of the neck, instead utilizes a vibrational impulse to adjust the Atlas.
Within the first adjustment visit, the patient regained feeling and sensation in both feet and legs. When the patient returned in 1 day for a followup treatment, he was able to walk straight and the edema in both ankles/feet had resolved.
The patient has remained under wellness care and has yet to experience the return of any numbness and/or swelling.

QUALITY OF LIFE RESTORED
August 18, 2014
My medical problem started back on May 28th and 29th of 2014 when I over did it at work by pushing and pulling heavily loaded containers of freight. Plus I lifted heavy merchandise those two days. By June 1st I was running a fever and hurt so bad I could not work on June 3rd. My pain was in the lower back portion of my neck, down the shoulders, and down to my fingertips when very severe. The second week I was too sick to work and thus go to my local doctor where the NP puts me on Cephalexin (without any lab work) and puts me off work for the week. Third week I work a partial day and end up right back at the doctors office where they at least ordered some lab work to be done this time. Lab work all negative. June 26th I woke up in terrible pain so severe that friends took me to UK emergency room where after 11 hours of many blood tests, an MRI and a CAT scan, nothing was showing up. I was admitted to Good Samaritan hospital. After 6 days I was released with the doctors not really finding a reason for my pain. The doctors did get my fevers to stop and gave me pain medicine and muscle relaxer to help with the pain.
On July 14th I was able to get to Dr. Pennington and Dr. Miller for help. The first week I came in three times which started to help. The second week new x-rays were taken because the other ones were many years old. With the new x-rays, Dr. Pennington was able to adjust my atlas and it stayed in. The fifth visit they worked on getting my ribs and collarbone area adjusted as well as down my spine. I came in one more time after that just to have some fine tuning done on everything. I am totally pain free thanks ever so much to both Dr. Miller and Dr. Pennington. I also appreciated how they worked as a team to take care of me and showed a personal interest in me. It is great to have my quality of life back
